人口5万人弱の小さな地方都市、富岡。 富岡を聞くと多くの人は富岡製糸場を思い浮かべるのではないでしょうか。 でも、私たちが思う本当のこのまちの魅力は、まちの人たち。

すれ違う人全員に 「こんにちは！」って挨拶して、 「どこ行くん？」って 声を掛け合うのは日常なんです。でも、ちょこっとここに来ただけでその魅力を感じてもらうのは難しい。 そこで、ここを訪れた人たちと、まちの人たちが出会う場所を作ることにしました。

それが、まちをひとつの宿にみたてた 富岡のまちやど『mabushiya』。

ここを訪れた人たちが富岡の日常に触れ、まちの人との会話を楽しみながら”富岡の家族”を増やしていきたいと考えています。

“Immerse in the daily lives of Tomioka, be the family.”

Tomioka is a small provincial city in Gunma prefecture with less than 50,000 citizens.
The UNESCO world heritage Tomioka Silk Mill perhaps made this city more known to public, however, we think what is more charming is the people living here.

– Where are you going? (Doko ikun?)

This is the everyday scenery of this town whenever you walk down the street.
But it is hard to grasp the beauty of it, especially when you are a visitor only staying for a short time.
That is why we decided to create a place both for visitors and the locals to come across.
That is “mabushiya” – A machiyado where you can stay as if the whole Tomioka city were your hotel.

We hope that all guests who stay here will experience the daily lives of Tomioka, enjoy the conversation with locals and make themselves at home in this city.
