WHAT IS MACHIYADO? まちやどとは？
「まちやど」とは、まちを一つの宿と見立て宿泊施設と地域の日常をネットワークさせ、まちぐるみで宿泊客をもてなすことで地域価値を向上していく事業です。
街の中にすでにある資源や街の事業者をつなぎ合わせ、そこにある日常を最大のコンテンツとすることで、利用者には世界に二つとない地域固有の宿泊体験を提供し、街の住人や事業者には新たな活躍の場や、事業機会を提供することを目的とします。
このような仕組みは、日本の本来のツーリズム、特に近代以前の形に近いものと考えます。宿場町では、泊まる場所、食べる場所、お風呂に入る場所、など様々な要素が集まって構成され、街道沿いに連続していました。まちやどを通して、かつての多様な宿泊体験を現代に呼び戻していきます。
MACHIYADO regards the surrounding neighborhood or town to be an integral extension of lodgings, so we connect the daily life of our local town to our accommodation services.We aim to add value to the local community by involving the town itself to welcome visitors.
Our purpose is also to offer one-of-a-kind experiences to our guests, not only to bring new opportunities for the local residents and businesses. We believe that daily life can be the most powerful attraction, and that can be achieved by connecting travelers to pre-existing resources in the town and the local businesses there.
We also believe that such system goes back to our historical roots, and is the original system for accomodating travelers in Japan, before modern times.Shukuba-machi (post-towns for travelers established at one-day intervals along highways in Japan during the Edo period) provided spots for eating, bathing, sight-seeing, and sleeping, lined up along the highway to accommodate travelers. Through MACHIYADO, we will make that diverse lodging experience reappear in the present day.

まちやどの建物は立派な大きさを誇るものではなく、まちに溶け込み一体となった施設ばかりです。そのまち特有の建物に住んでいるような体験が得られます。
Lodgings
